The Kesher Brick Program
Linking One Generation to Another

It is with great honor that the Temple Kol Emeth Religious School, in
conjunction with the Children's Memorial Garden Committee, introduces
the Kesher Brick Program. The word "Kesher" means to link or connect.
The purpose of this program is to preserve and acknowledge our Jewish past,
and by doing so, we will be linking one generation to the next. We should
never forget the sacrifices our ancestors made for us, while we look ahead to
make our world a better place for future generations.

The Kesher Brick Program will make it possible for a child or family to
connect with a child who died in the Holocaust, and establish a brick
memorial to preserve that connection. If a child has a family member that
they know died in the Holocaust - that link would thus be able to be
memorialized. There will also be a registry available to connect with a
Holocaust child by first name, last name, country of origin, age at time of
death, or the camp they perished in. The registry will also allow a Bnai
Mitzvah child to "twin" or share their special day with a Holocaust child
who did not have that opportunity.

A special brick is being designed that will have the name of the Holocaust
child as well as the name of the person or family memorializing that child. A
unique emblem will be stamped in to the brick to signify what this brick
represents. A certificate suitable for framing will also be given to each
purchaser of the brick. These special brick memorials can be purchased for
$72 per brick, and will be placed in the Temple Kol Emeth Children's
Memorial Garden.
