| Advanced Adult Hebrew - TKE This class

An Introduction to the Beliefs, Rituals and Stories of our
Religion. This is a 12-week course, offered at least twice
each year, covering topics which include:
- The Jewish calendar and Holidays
- Celebrating lifecycle events
- Keeping Shabbat
- How, where and why Jews pray
- A brief look at Jewish history
- Jewish view of life after death
- Judaism vis-a-vis Christianity
This course is designed for everyone: non-Jews beginning the
conversion process, Jews who what to learn what they never learned
in Sunday School or anyone who cares to learn the basics of Judaism. |
| Adult B'nai Mitzvah Prep |
This course moves with students through the entirety of the
Shabbat liturgy, including the Torah service.
Additionally, the class celebrates the cycle of the Jewish year
together; and class discussions provoke deeper thinking about the
rituals and beliefs and customs of Judaism. Once a date is set
for the b'nai mitzvah service, class members prepare for it
by learning to read and chant verses from the weekly Torah
portion and haftarah and developing their own interpretations
of Torah. |
| Torah Study |
Rabbi Lebow conducts a Torah Study class most
Saturday mornings before services and Wednesday mornings.
Check the online
calendar for dates.

To support your new (or ongoing) journey as
a Jew, this 8-session program, which meets once a month was
designed to provide a safe space to discuss important issues
faced by the Jew-by-Choice. Whether you became a Jew

Session 1: What brought you on your path to Judaism?
Session 2: Managing Interpersonal Relationships
(especially family of origin, in-laws, old and new friends,
etc.) and related challenges
Session 3: Will the Jewish Community ever really
accept me? (e.g., dealing with "schikza / scheigitz on
parade" issues)
Session 4: Creating a support community (engaging a
mentor person /family)
Session 5: Dealing with the December Dilemma and
Easter / Passover issues
Session 6: Learning the ropes (the rubrics of the
various Jewish services and being part of the services)
