Enjoying food and community at the High Holy Days
We know that food brings people together - sharing a burger at our annual cookout, a cup of coffee on Sunday mornings, a steak in the Sukkah, and a bit of cake at oneg after Shabbat are all ways that we build friendships at TKE.
Erev Rosh Hashanah Oneg
We invite you to join us after our evening service on Erev Rosh Hashanah (Wednesday, October 2) as we gather in the front courtyard as an entire community and enjoy the lavish oneg sponsored by the Women of Reform Judaism. Catch up with friends you may not have seen in a while or chat with someone new, it will be a lovely evening and a wonderful way to start the High Holy Day season.
Community Break-Fast
Following a beautiful Ne'ilah (Closing) service on Yom Kippur, stay with us as we break the Yom Kippur fast together immediately following the conclusion of services on Saturday, October 12. Bagels, cream cheese, and drinks will be provided by TKE. Click here to learn more, and to see what to bring. An RSVP is requested by Thursday, October 10.
A word about the Yom Kippur Fast
We know that many of our congregants will not fast on Yom Kippur for various reasons. To help you orient your dietary needs on that day as a spiritual practice, please check out this guide, "If I can't fast, how can I observe Yom Kippur," published by the Union for Reform Judaism.
