Rabbi Chase Foster
Rabbi Chase Foster, Senior Rabbi
Rabbi Charles "Chase" W. Foster (he/him) is honored to serve as Temple Kol Emeth's Senior Rabbi. He yearns to inspire and facilitate an ecosystem that brings every person that encounters Temple Kol Emeth to find a sense of joyful Judaism, a connection to the community and That Which Is Greater Than, and a deep, personal sense of fulfillment.
Rabbi Foster was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. The product of an interfaith marriage, he found his voice and passion over many summers at the URJ’s Goldman Union Camp Institute (Zionsville, IN) and in local and regional youth groups. He earned a B.A. from Purdue University, and a Master of Hebrew Literature and rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College in New York City.
Rabbi Foster served the past five years as the Rabbi for Engagement and Learning at jHUB, a Federation-funded organization in Cleveland, OH. He started his rabbinic career at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, TX, and has served congregations and Hillels throughout the eastern half of the United States.
Rabbi Foster currently serves on the board of the Purdue University Hillel Foundation. He is an ongoing Fellow of the Clergy Leadership Incubator, a program focusing on visionary leadership and innovative practice. Rabbi Foster was an active participant and cohort moderator for the Rekindle Fellowship in Cleveland, building strong relationships and collaborative action between the Black and Jewish communities.
Rabbi Foster loves hiking with his wife, Sarah, and dog, Griffey; sharing with his son, Nathan, Marvel superheroes and rooting for sports teams that are really good at not being great; smiling at his infant daughter, Pearl; reenacting the TV show Chopped with whatever is lying around the kitchen; using power tools to create and repair; listening to and playing music; and playing soccer.
